All Star Charity Gala 2013

More than 550 guests gathered together at the A La Carte Pavilion on March 8th to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the DeBartolo Family Foundation’s All Star Charity Gala presented by Bright House Networks. Guests mingled amongst 30 celebrities, including All Pro Buccaneers Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks, Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, actors Quinton Aaron, Thomas Nicholas and Marlee Matlin and celebrity chefs Tyler Florence and Scott Conant. The highlight of the night was nine-time Grammy award winning artist John Legend, who serenaded the ballroom behind a grand piano upon a center-of-the-room circular stage. The event commemorating the Gala’s 10-year milestone brought in more than $789,000 to benefit the Foundation, which has awarded almost $11 million in scholarships, grants and Spirit of Humanity Awards since it formed in 2001.

Lisa DeBartolo, Nikki DeBartolo and Tiffani Packer created an evening full of reminiscent reflections. Guests were greeted by a sultry champagne pouring aerialist woven within a beautiful chandelier in the center of the cocktail hour. The ballroom doors opened to a room full of white. Plush white carpeting covered the entire ballroom floor, textured white linens graced the tabletops and a breathtaking 16 foot-tall grand violinist stood center stage accompanied by two swinging electric violinists. After Legend’s performance, an auctioneer led the most successful live auction to date, raising over $163,000 on items including a trip to the 2014 Super Bowl, tickets to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and New Year’s Eve Ball Drop in Times Square and two trips to the DeBartolo family’s Fourth of July event in Kalispell, MT.

To conclude the evening, the stage curtain parted and guests were invited on stage for a late night “After Party” with celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson.
