All Star Charity Gala 2009

DEBARTOLO FAMILY FOUNDATION SIXTH ALL STAR CHARITY GALA BRINGS IN $400,000

MARCH 9, 2009 – More than 50 celebrities mingled among 500 guests at the DeBartolo Family Foundation’s Sixth All Star Charity Gala presented by Sun Trust Bank on March 6 at the A La Carte Event Pavilion. The event brought in more than $400,000 to benefit the Tampa Bay area’s most worthy causes.

The record number of celebrities included 30 football players (future Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, All-Pro Derrick Brooks), musicians (Boyz II Men, Matchbox 20 guitarist Kyle Cook) and two army generals (Mike DeLong, Tommy Franks). Singer/actor Joey Fatone and Hall of Famer Wade Boggs led the live auction during dessert, and headliner Paul Anka closed out the night.

“The DeBartolo Family Foundation supports so many worthwhile events in the Tampa Bay community throughout the year, but without your generosity and commitment to this event, we wouldn’t be able to help so many worthy organizations and people,” said Lisa DeBartolo, Executive Vice President of DeBartolo Holdings, LLC. “With our sixth gala, we have raised more than $2 million dollars for the Foundation – an accomplishment we should all be proud of. In this difficult economic climate, the organizations and individuals our Foundation supports, need our help more than ever.”
